So.....I'm a huge fan of both Supernatural and Fullmetal Alchemist/Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and I happen to notice a striking resemblance between Supernatural's Season 7 finale ep, "Survival of the Fittest" to FMA: Brotherhood's ep, "Doorway of Darkness"
Here are the similarities I found:
Dean and Castiel were sent to Purgatory when the Leviathan, Dick Roman, exploded after they had killed him and being caught in the blast | | v Edward and Ling Yao *as well as Envy* were sent to a failed Gate of Truth inside Gluttony's stomach after the Homunculus unleashed his power and swallowed them both when they were caught in his path.
Purgatory and the inside of Gluttony's are both unknown and mysterious places that offer no means of escape to anyone unfortunate enough to have gotten stuck in either places. | | v Both also have no means of survival such as no food or water or warmth. *There's fire in Gluttony's stomach only because he had swallowed Colonel Mustang's Flame Alchemy attacks*
Sam Winchester and Alphonse Elric were left devastated in the real world, unsure of what to do to help save their big brothers and friends from their fate.
Castiel and Ling were originally supposed to be the only ones to be caught, but b/c Dean was also close by when Dick Roman exploded and b/c Envy had grabbed Ed's leg to prevent him from saving Ling just as Gluttony unleashed his power and ending up in his path, they became victims too.
Those are the only similarities I caught, there may be more, but I couldn't catch any Made for pure fun
